What Is an Affiliate Link?
Some of the links on this Site — in our reviews, buying guides, and comparison articles — are affiliate links. If you click one of these links and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission from the retailer or brand. This comes at no additional cost to you; the price you pay is exactly the same whether you use our link or go directly to the retailer.
Our Affiliate Partnerships
As an Amazon Associate, HydroGrowLab earns from qualifying purchases.
How This Affects (and Doesn’t Affect) Our Recommendations
Our editorial process comes first. We choose what to test and what to recommend based on our own research and, where possible, hands-on use — not based on which brands offer an affiliate program or how high a commission pays. We link to products through affiliate links when it’s convenient for you, but that link is a byproduct of a recommendation we’d make either way, not the reason we’re making it.
If a product we’ve tested doesn’t perform well, we say so, whether or not we have an affiliate relationship with that brand. See our About page for more on how we approach reviews and testing.
Where You’ll Find Affiliate Links
Affiliate links typically appear in:
- Product reviews
- Buying guides (“best X for Y” articles)
- Comparison articles
- Occasionally, within how-to guides where a specific product is mentioned
Not every product mentioned on the Site is a link we earn from — some mentions are purely informational.
No Extra Cost to You
To be direct about the part that matters most: using an affiliate link never costs you anything extra. The commission comes out of the retailer’s marketing budget, not your wallet. If you’d rather not use our links, you’re always welcome to search for the product directly — we just appreciate it when readers use them, since it’s how this Site stays running.
